Players to Keep an Eye On For the 2017 NFL Season

The 2017 NFL season begins in September. There is a high level of excitement for every new season of the NFL and that’s because every American sports fan out there loves the sport of American football; but this time, there is more reason for anticipation since the defending Super Bowl LI champs, New England Patriots, will be going up against the Kansas City Chiefs to open the season. But the games alone aren’t the only thing making everyone excited since there are millions waiting for fantasy football, NFL free picks, and of course, those who rely on getting insider information on early betting odds.

You probably have read so many team previews and discussions about which team is winning it this year and which rivalries will heat up once again; but how about the top players to keep an eye on for the 2017 season?

1 – Robert Griffin III

Quarterback

Griffin played for the Cleveland Browns last season before the team cut his in March this year. But it doesn’t mean he’s down and out for good. The 2011 Heisman trophy recipient still remains to be one of the quickest quarterbacks in the league and there is very little doubt he’ll sign up with a new team soon.

2 – Matt Ryan

Quarterback

Ryan is no doubt one of the most popular players in the NFL today. Although part of that popularity is because of the epic meltdown he and his team, Atlanta Falcons went through after giving up a huge lead against New England and eventually lose the Super Bowl. But if you’re to look at Ryan’s setback last season, it might very well be the reason why everyone should give him a closer look this season since he’ll return a hungrier and more desperate quarterback for one of the NFL’s best teams.

3 – Michael Thomas

Wide Receiver

After totaling 92 catches and 1,137 yards last season, the sky is the limit for Thomas in the upcoming season. If the Saints focus on improving their offense, Thomas sure will have a bigger role for the team. If there is one good proof of the enormous potential found in Thomas, it has to be the fact that during his rookie season, he managed to break franchise records for a rookie in touchdowns, receptions, and receiving yards.

4 – Blake Bortles

Quarterback

Bortles is one of the younger quarterbacks in the league and he comes in with a lot of redeeming to do after a disappointing season last year. If there’s one good thing going for Bortles, it’s the fact that the third overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft is well-liked by management and the fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars; but he should be paying it with more maturity in accepting his leadership responsibilities for the team.
